No sponsorships. No viral videos. Just an amateur flatlander's ultra running adventures.
A physical therapist by trade, I am passionate about working with other runners and talking about running. I started out my career as a Certified Athletic Trainer and have been rehabbing athletes for over 20 years. I grew up playing softball and basketball and needed something to get me motivated and back into athletics after I finished PT school, so I decided to try running. I struggled through my first two 5ks not really knowing what I was doing or if this was a sport for me. Then, I started training with a local running group and fell in love with it. I ran my first half road and trail marathons and then began training with the store owners, who were ultra runners. My mileage with them grew as did my race distances. I quickly went from a 50k to 100k to my first 100 in just over a year and a half. I was hooked on the 100 mile distance, especially on single track trail, and never looked back. There’s no where else I’d rather be than out on a single track in the woods. I have now completed over 70 ultras with multiple podium finishes as well as an Ironman.
